A Fictional Existence

A Reading Vacation – Day 6

45431788-13516154dum dum dum … yes I am still sick and woke up at 11am (again). Was supposed to go with Faisal and Shruti for a photo/food trip to Fujairah but cancelled (again). Spent the day wrapped in a blanket on the couch, stuffing my face with copious amounts of food and picked up The Song of Achilles by Medaline Miller. The book is an alternative telling of the life of Achilles and Trojan war, narrated by Patroclus, Achilles’ closest companion as recorded in the Illiad. Plato believed their relationship to be romantic, and the author has used that as the key theme in the book. It is a fast easy read, I managed to finish it even though spent the evening running after the nephew and went out for dinner later in the evening with Faisal and Shru.

In other, sadder, news. Tomorrow is the last day of my vacation. Some of it will be spent working and there are enough chores to keep me busy through the better part of the day. Let me say: *sigh*
