I came across Shelly Rae (@bookdout) randomly in December 2012 while I was either looking for a book or a review online. She lives in Australia and easily reads around 250 books a year! I was gob-smacked, to say the least. At the same time an entire community of people who devote their time to reading and writing about it (what Everything Else has turned into mainly) was opened to me.
Bookdout hosts a reading challenge each year, and I’ve signed up. This year it’s called 2013 Ecelectic Reader Challenge, and includes the following categories:
1. Translated fiction [The 100-year-old-man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson, Read: 06th March 2013, Review]
3. Romantic suspense
4. Made into a movie
5. New Adult
6. Urban Fantasy
If you’re interested, here’s the link for joining up, with all the details. Mainly you’re supposed to read (of course), but also write about it by either linking your blog or making a Goodreads shelf. There’s a draw for a small prize at the end of the year, provided you finish the challenge by 31st December
